Devi

The big fish-shaped eyes are bordered in thick black. The slightly brown eyeballs focus right in the center. A circular ornament is pierced in the nose. Yet at first glance, we catch the red circle between the eyebrows. The red circle appears to have the power to consume the whole world. The organization of the picture itself tells us that it’s the symbolic form of ‘Devi’.

The nine days of Navratri, falling in the month of Ashvin is the festival celebrated variedly in India to worship the various forms of the Goddess. From being a ‘Gram Devi’ (village goddess) to residing in cities the ways of worshipping evolved with time. The concept of Devi is not only a part of religious traditions anymore, it also is perceived as an everyday woman with extraordinary spirits. It is not only the forms in the temples that we worship, but we at REVE, believe in the energy around us. And that is the reason we started with Navatarankika. A nine-day celebration of the women who dedicatedly have been a part of REVE. An initiative to appreciate the ‘Devi’ residing within them, for the motive behind it all.

2023 marks the third year of the event. Within the 9-day period, we chose nine inspiring stories to share from the women of our company. With the help of an audio mechanism, we make it a point for all the staff members to listen to these great stories of their colleagues. On the 10th day of Dussera, the nine women are felicitated with a frame containing their story. Sharing of stories and sharing of energies makes the environment healthy for us all.

Devi is indeed a portrait of life. By organizing Navatarankika we aim for the devi to be raised in our lives, which will make us strong, and powerful to work throughout the coming year. May this Navratri shower us with joy and happiness!
